For this month's tasting, we're going to get a little more esoteric; not that what we normally do isn't.
This time, we'd like you to think of your favourite song — and then find the wine that goes with it.
There is such a strong connection between flavour and music, and the way music can influence how we experience and taste wine. So we're putting that connection to the test.
Choose a song that means something to you, find the bottle that you think belongs alongside it, and come ready to share both with the group.
Bring a bottle of wine that you think pairs with your favourite song.
We have spaces limited to 10 people, so please let us know ASAP if you can make it!
Come with your best song, your chosen bottle, and an open mind.
Format
On arrival, check your wine in with the manager on duty at Ground Wine Bar.
Join everyone else at the big table and mingle.
Wines will be blinded in flights of 3 in clear decanters.
Discuss and evaluate.
The wines will be revealed after all flights are tasted. Please provide a brief commentary for your wine.
Wines glasses, spittons and water will be provided.
Food can be ordered from Ground Wine Bar’s menu, at additional charge.
